Can you get matching phone and AirPod cases?
Yes. At etchd it is simply how the range is made, rather than an occasional special edition. About four in five of our prints exist as both a phone case and an AirPod case in the same artwork, so the two things you pull out of the same pocket actually look like they came from the same place.
That is rarer than you would expect. Phone cases and AirPod cases are usually made by different brands, in different ranges, on different release schedules. Most people end up with a phone case they chose carefully and an AirPod case they settled for.
Why this is the pair worth matching first
If you are going to coordinate one thing with your phone, this is the one people actually see. Your AirPods come out on the train, at your desk, in a queue, at roughly the same moments your phone does. A laptop sleeve matters when your bag is open. An AirPod case matters every time you reach for your ears.
It is also the easiest way to find out whether you like a coordinated setup at all, because both pieces are small and you are buying artwork you have already chosen once.
What the AirPod case is
A hard polycarbonate shell that snaps on for a close fit, with the design wrapped over the lid and down the sides rather than printed flat across the top. A carabiner clips it to a bag or a set of keys. The cutout on the front keeps the charging light visible, and wireless charging still works with the case on, so nothing about your normal routine has to change.
Which AirPods does it fit?
Six models: AirPods Pro Gen 1, AirPods Pro Gen 2, AirPods Gen 1, AirPods Gen 2, AirPods Gen 3 and AirPods Gen 4. You choose the model on the product page and the case is made for that shell, so the lid closes properly and the charging port lines up.
Does the print really line up across both?
An AirPod case has a fraction of the surface of a phone case, so taking the same file and shrinking it would turn a bold print into a busy one and lose the detail completely. Each design is repositioned for the smaller shell instead, so the motif still reads at arm's length and the colours match the case in your hand.
