Can you get a power bank that matches your phone case?
Yes. Almost every print at etchd is made as a magnetic power bank as well as a phone case, so the thing that keeps your phone alive stops being the ugliest object in your bag.
Power banks are the accessory nobody designs. They are black plastic bricks, sold on capacity alone, and they end up rattling around a bag next to a phone you actually chose. Ours carry the same artwork as the case, printed edge to edge.
Why the power bank is the one worth matching
Because it is the accessory you use in public at the worst moment. You pull it out when your battery is dying, usually on a train or in a cafe, and it sits on the table attached to your phone for the next twenty minutes. That is a long time for a mismatched black brick to be the thing people see.
How does it attach?
Magnetically. It snaps onto the back of a MagSafe iPhone and charges without a cable, so there is nothing to plug in and nothing to carry separately. It also works with any Qi enabled device, which means a phone that is not MagSafe can still charge from it on a pad.
The magnetic hold is the part that makes it usable one handed. You can keep scrolling with the bank attached rather than balancing a phone, a cable and a brick at the same time.
How much charge does it hold?
5,000mAh, which is roughly a full extra charge for most phones. That is a deliberate size. It is enough to get you through an evening or a long journey, and small enough to stay pocketable, which a larger capacity would not be.
Does the print match the case exactly?
The artwork is the same, adjusted for a very different shape. A phone case is tall and narrow and wraps around a camera cutout; a power bank is a flat slab. Scaling one file to fit both would crop the motif badly on one of them, so each is positioned for its own surface. Side by side they read as a pair.
You can also choose a glossy or matte finish, which is worth thinking about: matte hides fingerprints on something you will be holding while it charges.
Is every design available as a power bank?
Almost. All but a handful of our prints are made as both, so if you have already chosen a case the matching bank is very likely there. Open the design to check.
